Thanks Tim — you are spot on, the innovation culture has taken the celebration of failure to an extreme, almost to the point of fetish. It’s disingenuous because nobody I know enjoys the feeling of failure — they just embrace it as an inevitable part of experimentation and take advantage of the learning opportunities it brings. But failure itself is horrible — we should be more honest about that. We do children a disservice in lauding failure to a degree we would never accept for ourselves.
